Regions Bank money market rates are offered for a multitude of investment options. Basic money accounts start with a minimum investment of $100 and a monthly fee of $10. Monthly fees are applicable on this account until investors are able to raise their investment to $2,500 or more. Regions interest rates vary by location and geographic region of the United States.
Regions money market interest rates for an investment of less than $2,500 are estimated at 0.05%. These rates are as of December 31, 2009 and are subject to change depending on market conditions. Investments that are greater than $2,500 will yield an interest rate of 0.10% and have the same APY. These rates are compounded daily and paid monthly on collected balances.
Regions money market rates for investments greater than $10,000 and less than $25,000 will return an APY and interest rate of 0.15%.
Investments greater than $25,000 and less than $49,999 will return an APY and interest rate of 0.20%. Investments greater than $50,000 offer the highest interest rates of 0.25%.

The Regions LifeGreen Savings account requires a $5 deposit with an automatic recurring monthly savings transfer from a Regions Checking Account, if not then all Regions LifeGreen Savings account that are opened will cost $50. The account rates for the Regions LifeGreen Savings account in terms of Interest Rates and Annual Percentage Yield is the: balances that are less than $2,499 have a rate of 0.05%, those that are between the band of $2,500-$49,999 have a rate of 0.10% and balances of $50,000 or more have a rate of 0.50%.
The balance required to open up a Regions Savings account is $50 thus subjecting you to the benefit of compounded daily interest which is paid monthly on a collected balance basis. The account rate for the Regions Savings account is the same for both Interest Rates and APY’s: balances that are below $49,999 are at the rate of 0.05% whilst all balances above $50,000 have a rate of 0.40%.
The requirement to open a Savings for Minors account is only at $5 with the promise of daily compounded interest which is paid monthly on collected balances. The account rate for the Savings for Minors account is recorded with all balances having an interest rate and an Annual Percentage Yield of 0.05% flat rate.
